The French-American Aid for Children, Inc. ”Children Come First" (FAAFC), is a New York based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose primary purpose is to provide financial assistance to abused, disadvantaged and sick children in the United States and in France through programs administered by vetted children’s charities in both countries.

Our organization is composed of volunteers and has been in existence for the past 70 years, having been originally founded in November 1939 in New York City as The Committee of French American Wives.

The longevity of the organization is a testimony and a tribute to the devotion of its all-volunteer membership and its long term corporate supporters - some going back over fifty years - such as Air France, Cartier, Chanel and Société Générale.

A Board of Directors governs the Organization. The current President is Ms. Diane Ackerman.  All Officers and Directors serve part-time without compensation, contributions to employee benefit plans, or expense account allowances.
