The Bal
des Berceaux is an elegant, black-tie affair featuring a
debutante ball and live auction complete with a
dinner-dance. Thanks to the participation of the
Franco-American community and its friends, FAAFC has
been able to raise its main funds from this annual event
so as to provide significant financial assistance to its
beneficiary institutions. Additionally, during the
evening of the Bal des Berceaux, FAAFC presents an
honorary award to an individual or an organization in
recognition of the commitment and support shown to help
underprivileged children.
Some of
the previous recipients of FAAFC’s honorary award
include: Cartier, LVMH, Dr. John E. Sexton – President
of New York University, UNICEF, Albina du Boisrouvray,
and Mrs. Anne-Aymone Giscard d’Estaing.
Recent
Masters of Ceremonies were Charlie Rose and Jim
Rosenfield, while some of the eminent guests from the
arts and the entertainment fields in recent years
included Sigourney Weaver, I.M. Pei, Frederic Fekkai,
John Sexton, Robin Leach, Felicia Taylor, Margaux
Hemingway, Arman, Raquel Welch, Mary McFadden, Roger
Moore, Edward Herrmann, and Dr. Oz as well as the
regular attendance by leaders in the worlds of
diplomacy, finance and business.
